The purpose of furniture glides is that furniture (mostly chairs) can be moved easily and quietly. In addition, the floor should be protected from damage as far as possible.
In order to do justice to the different floor conditions, furniture glides are offered in different materials and sliding surfaces.
Furniture glides are wearing parts that require regular checks and must be replaced in good time. The service life results from the load, the floor and the suitability of the furniture glider used. The installation surface for the furniture glides should be as large as possible.
The useful life of the furniture glides is positively influenced by professional floor cleaning and care. For wet cleaning, we recommend removing furniture with a felt or metal sliding surface from the surface to be cleaned and waiting until the floor surface is completely dry.
When hammering / screwing the furniture glides into the piece of furniture, ensure that they are properly assembled. If the furniture glides are not hammered in properly, the pins can bend or the wood splinter. A small pilot hole is recommended when attaching the furniture glides.
Furniture glides with a decorative nickel-plated surface are only partially protected against corrosion.
